LIBYAN REBEL WAR CRIMES: The Videos America Doesn't Want You To See

libya

Yesterday we published footage from a town destroyed by Qaddafi's rockets: Libyan Rebels Risk Death To Bring You This Video.

But even as Qaddafi commits atrocities, the rebels are engaged in some of the same violence. And Washington has been forced to look the other way.

We received the following email complaining of biased coverage. The reader links to a dozen videos showing atrocities committed by the rebels.

WARNING, THE VIDEOS ARE EXTREMELY GRAPHIC.

Dear Sir,

I am surprised with your title... It seems to me there was no risk because everyday the Libyan Rebels post at the you-tube videos taken from their mobile on what they do to soldiers, civilians who do not follow their beliefs...
These videos you do not show them to your public you are desperately to show only the good side but unfortunately for people who do not believe the west media they search the internet and they find quite a lot of videos that your so called rebels risk their lives evryday to bring videos of how Qaddafi has massacred his people... here are some links that u can see for your self.

the boy that the rebels beat up because he supported the gov...
here is an old man beaten by the rebels
here some girls from Benghazi who are not with the rebels where raped by the Rebels the peaceful with risk to bring the videos to the public... she is calling for the Libyan army to come to save them!!!
they are doing it just like the americans.. humiliating sexually - that is a direct evidence of the rebel-CIA connection
Libyan rebels behead, mutilate a soldier that surrenderd... where is the cnn?

I have learned now that when people die in Libya under the NATO bombing, killing civilians and little children. The Government of Qatar, dancing and having fun celebrating their participation in this crime and enjoys revenues from oil that they will receiveIn this video you will see the victims of the bombing and dancing members of the Government of Qatar Spread it on net and media THATS WHATS WRITTEN FOR THE ABOVE LINK..

I have loads of videos like the above which i can fill a whole page are these rebels realy risking their LIVES?? or are u trying to persuade the people that its right that America intervined with NATO? just because America, England and France need to do wars so that your nation does not realize that your country is bankrupt... what kind of journalists are you??? Hiding the truth.. how can you live with your selves in making another nation misrable with orphans, are you that thirsty of blood that you have not realized that you have become vampires on weaker nations! Working for the New World Order does not mean that tomorrow you will still have your job... wake up and do your job proparly.. be first true to yourself and then to your readers!!!
Most of you journalists are ashame to your proffesion... I wonder how you sleep at night??? Because today its Libya very soon it will be America, England, France... have you realized that we are at the brick of the III World War... and you are playing their game.
Nobody said that Qaddafi is an angel but neither your president or the Kings in the arab world...
so the next time you LIE to your readers think first what you are doing.. America is financing Al Qaeda and the Brotherhood of Islam who are the rebels and then you will start saying to the American nation we apologize but these people now are terrorist so we have to go againg to war... are you kidding me???
you can answer me if you wish but also you can visit me on the face book https://www.facebook.com/pages/STOP-THE-WAR-IN-LIBYA-WE-DEMAND-IT/213018878711849#!/pages/STOP-THE-WAR-IN-LIBYA-WE-DEMAND-IT/213018878711849 there you will see the original news not what you  do pumpering the rebels and saying that they risked their lives to bring the video... the rebels have massacred a lot of civilians who do not want to follow them....
Personaly I do not care about Qaddafi but what you are doing is WRONG.... YOU ARE NOT SAYING THE TRUTH..... YOU ARE LYING TO YOUR READERS

Decorating and Entertaining with Ease

By Martha Thompson, Director of Guest Relations

Whether you are planning to host Easter dinner, Mother?s Day Brunch, a bridal or baby shower or a graduation celebration, entertaining should never break your budget or cause you stress!

  1. Make it easy for friends and family to contribute to the special day. As the hostess, plan to serve the main course. Based on what you choose, assign appetizers, salads and other side dishes so no one has to do all the cooking.

  2. Serving your meal on a buffet table makes your job a breeze and makes it easy for your guests to go back for seconds. Set up your buffet table the day before, including any tablecloths, decorations, plates, silverware and serving dishes and utensils. Position your guests? plates in a stack at the beginning of the buffet, followed by food. Place any condiments next to the food that they go with. Always put your silverware and napkins at the end of the buffet, so guests will have a free hand to fill their plates.

  3. Add a little flair! I like to wrap each set of silverware in a napkin and tie it up with a colorful ribbon or cord. Place them in a basket or stand them up in decorative containers for an attractive presentation. Follow your food buffet with a separate drink station and dessert station.

Now that you know how to easily put together a fun buffet spread, it?s time to decorate! But don?t worry?decorations don?t have to be expensive or a lot of work.

  1. Mix and match on the cheap. Buy a few pretty serving dishes at discount stores, yard sales or second-hand stores to keep on hand for your buffet table. As long as the colors coordinate, mixing and matching never goes out of style! Don?t be afraid to use a variety of coordinating plates, glasses and napkins. Your guests will enjoy the different styles.

  2. Keep the centerpiece simple. Fresh cut flowers like daffodils or tulips right out of your yard are a great touch for spring tables. If you have a lot of people coming, add flowers as an option for one of your guests to bring. There?s always someone who enjoys that assignment!

  3. Invest in decorative glass containers found at your local craft shop or discount stores. They may be in the candle section or in the flower vase section of the store. At Easter, I place a pastel pillar candle in the container and then pour pastel jelly beans (approximately 3 bags) around the base of the candle. I reuse the containers throughout the year. For Valentine?s Day, I fill them with heart candy; Halloween, with candy corn; and Christmas, with peppermints or even whole fresh cranberries. You get the idea. Use your imagination and buy your candy at the dollar store!

Huawei Gives Transparency A Try, Names Board Members

Huawei’s US expansion plans have been thwarted several times now by the US government. In addition to complaints about Huawei’s supposed ties to the People’s Liberation Army and its presence in the sensitive telecom sector, US critics have also cited its murky corporate structure.

I wrote about its latest rejection this past February:

The most recent blade sunk into Huawei’s expansionist guts came from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US, a security review body commonly referred to as CFIUS, which recommended that Huawei divest itself of technology assets purchased from defunct tech firm 3Leaf last year. For several days, Huawei played it uncommonly tough, declining to go with the CFIUS fix, which would have forced President Obama to make the call. Well, yesterday they threw in the towel.

Why is this tragic? This is now the third time that Huawei’s US plans have been thwarted. They were first given the cold shoulder in 2008, when Huawei, and a group of other investors, tried to buy in to 3Com. CFIUS put the kibosh on that deal as well, resulting in a similar “voluntary” withdrawal by the Chinese company.

A couple years later, when US telecom company Sprint solicited bids for equipment needed for an upgrade of its cell phone network, Huawei (and fellow Chinese firm ZTE) participated, at least for a while. Ultimately it was 3Com all over again, furious gnashing of teeth were heard from the usual suspects in Washington, and the bids of the Chinese firms were tossed in the dust bin.

I ended that post with the pessimistic comment that this was Huawei’s “third strike,” suggesting that the future didn’t look all that bright for the telecom giant in the US. This gloomy viewpoint had more to do with Huawei’s particular problems than the fact that it is a Chinese enterprise — I wrote about that issue a couple of weeks ago.

But of course Huawei can’t just give up on the US market. What can it do to try and mend fences with the folks in DC? It can’t change its corporate history, and it’s stuck in a sensitive commercial sector. How about transparency?

Apparently Huawei has been listening to the complaints and is trying to allay US fears.

From the Financial Times:

Huawei has for the first time made public the members of its board, in an attempt to improve transparency in order to address US concerns about its alleged links to the Chinese military.

The biggest change in the Chinese telecoms equipment maker’s annual report for 2010, to be published on Monday, is that Huawei has included for the first time a list of names, pictures and biographies of the people who run the company.

Will this pave the way for future US deals for Huawei? I’d like to say yes, but after some of the statements I’ve read from US legislators, I have a feeling that some folks in D.C. made up their minds a while ago that Huawei is persona non grata. This latest goodwill gesture may not be enough to change those minds.

For more on the topic, you can listen to me and Josh Gartner talk Huawei and CFIUS on the China Policy Pod from last February.
